Pentagon Calls 349 Military Suicides Last Year '"An Epidemic We Can't Ignore"

The number of U.S. troops who were suicides exceeded combat fatalities in one year...last year.
It set a record, the Pentagon said Monday. That was more than 15 percent above 2011.

"This is an epidemic that can't be ignored," said Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., who championed legislation last year to improve suicide prevention efforts for troops and veterans.
