Whoever Gave Ms. Goldberg Her Name "Whoopi" No Doubt Heard About "EGOT"

Every profession has its own patois -- code for "insider" information. Showbiz may be king of argot, making an affectionate term for winning the top four bounty booty.

Whoopi Goldberg -- who emblazons the stage at the Kravis Center on January 11 -- is one of the few performers to have done so -- won an "EGOT" which stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

In a career which has spanned an Academy Award for "Ghost" -- a Tony for the musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and a daytime Emmy for hosting ABC's "The View" for its longest running status, we add the Grammy to get "EGOT." (Think she says, "I got an EGOT")?

This show should be like the one which won the Grammy, "Whoopi Goldberg, Direct from Broadway" -- a standby for the dreadlocked entertainer. Order pricey ($25-$125) ducats at Kravis.org. or call (561-832-7469)
