As president Margaret Seroppian waxed eloquent, it celebrated the stunning concertizing of violinist Hulfang Chen and pianist Eddie Martinez,a duo so exceptional, they rated an extended standing ovation. The president's prose for those pros was worth more than overflowing coffers of folding green.
It was an exqusite musicale that brought music clubbers to their feet, hearing the full-bodied works of Fritz Kreisler, one of the greatest masters of the violin. At age 7, Kreisler entered the Vienna Conservatory. "Wow" was not enough. They are top-notch artists who have bested the rest.The very accomplished trumpet player, Sam Lussler and his students will make an exciting event. He has performed and recorded with numerous artists including Bob Hope, Dionne Warwick, Natalie Cole, Deanna Martin, Ira Sullivan and a dozen more. He has performed in the Actors' Playhouse, the Florida Philharmonic and Florida Grand Opera.
Munching on the luncheon at Coco Plum Women's Club following the performance I consider icing on the cake. Patsy Shaw,was in charge of reservations because she's cooking the luncheon fare and Patsy is ranked higher than the best.
Suzie Schmidt (she of the Claughton lineage) and Barkley Averette were chairing the luncheon which calls for a $30 donation. Chicken feed for a feast that only Patsy can deliver.
