Carolina Herrera looked to her past to find the perfect dress for summer.
The ladylike designer is reissuing six prints from the last decade in four stretch-cotton styles in a capsule she calls the Archive Print Collection. Nothing overreaching about Carolina. Charming patterns range from beach chairs to painterly daisies on a sky-blue background.
The designs that come from her own flight of fancy are "radishes!" The root vegetable has not been overthought. She hopes that women who are stuck in the solid color maze will change from one idea to another, as in, "Now I love prints." (To satisfy the ladies who heave a sigh and say, "Someday my prints will come.)
