Reduced Rate Of $7 For Deering Estate " Picnic In The Park" On April 21

Two weeks from today, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy yourselves at the Deering Estate "Picnic in the Park" at a reduced rate of $7 for all ages!

There will be a Human Chess Match hosted by Door to the Arts, Inc. and St. John Neumann Catholic Church at 2 p.m. in the Courtyard Watch as a chess match comes alive. Students dressed in full costume will make a la-ta-dah entrance and take their positions on a giant chess board. Players will call out moves from a nearby table to make the chess "pieces" move. So begins the amazing battle of skill and strategy.

Join in old-fashioned lawn games, historic house tours between10:30 and 3 p.m., natural areas tour at 12:30 p.m., the Human Chess Match, 1 p.m. and Spring Photography Exhibit features Patricia Gonzalez-Osorio, Antonia Wright and Marina Font.
