Adopt-A-Tree (Take Two, They're Small) Tree-mendous Giveaway Is Sunday, May 19

Free trees that include Jackfruit, Carambola, Pigeon Plum, Green Buttonwood and Mango will be given away from 9 a.m. to noon at City of North Miami Beach Yes Center, 17051 NE 19th Ave.

There's no catch. The Adopt-a-Tree program was hatched in 2001 to increase the canopy of Miami-Dade County. More than 169,000 trees have been given away thus far to the community.

Over 2,000 FREE TREES will be available for adoption on Sunday. Anyone who lives in Dade county is eligible. You don't have to live in North Miami Beach community to partake of the county's freebie. Who was it said he couldn't see a poem as lovely as a tree? When it's your own and shades your yard, it also cuts down the cost of air conditioning by 30%.

Cost-cutting and summer-proofing your yard is right now. When you go to sell your home, its value shoots up the more limbs a buyer sees. What can you lose? The next giveaway is slated for the City of Homestead on July 27, and on September 14, at J.C. Bermudez Park in Doral.
