Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine one box of chocolate cake mix and 1 cup of chopped nuts in a large bowl. Stir in 2/3 cup of evaporated milk, and 1 stick melted butter or margarine. Batter will be thick.

Spread half the batter in an ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat 35 caramels from a 10 oz. bag and add remaining 1/3 cup of evaporated milk, in a small saucepan over low heat stirring constantly, until melted. Sprinkle 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips (a 12-ounce bag) over partially baked brownie; drizzle with caramel mixture.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Makes 24 brownies.
